Holy Week Worship Service Schedule

Categories: Recent Events

Please make time this week to worship and walk the path of Jesus. The path of celebration (The Last Supper), submission (in the garden), agonizing death (on the cross), waiting in the tomb and resurrection, (empty tomb). The journey has more meaning the more one experiences all that our Lord went through for us.   Join us Holy Week at these worship services:

March 23 Holy Wednesday
7:30 Taize       This service is a contemplative time to chant, hear scripture, and pray. You will have an opportunity to come forward to light a candle to bring light to your prayer.

March 24  Maundy Thursday
6:30pm            This is a traditional soup and rolls dinner before worship. Come and bring the family for food, fun, and fellowship.
7:30pm            The service will revolve around the meal of love, acceptance, and forgiveness that Jesus gave to all of his followers.  We will gather at tables and share communion with each other.

March 25  Good Friday
12 Noon           This is a time to come and experience just how much love God had for us and what Jesus was willing to do to show all of us that love. The focus will be the veneration of the cross.
7:30pm            This service will lift up the stations of the cross as we retrace in faith the last hours of Jesus’ life. We will call them crisis stations as we touch on the challenge in Jesus’ life and relate them to our crises and those in the lives of others.

March 26  Holy Saturday – Easter Vigil (NO 5:15 SERVICE)
7:30pm            This service moves us from light to readings to baptism and ends with Holy Communion. The youth are working hard on their presentation which will be six (6) stories from the Old Testament.

March 27  Easter Sunday
8:15am and 9:15am   This is the most joyous time in the life of every Christian.  It is a proclamation of the power and hope we have in the resurrection of eternal life.  There will be special music, decorated sanctuary, choir anthems and Easter message.  Join us in shouting our Alleluias and praises to God.
11:15am          Join us in the Fellowship Hall for a great Easter celebration.  We will continue the theme of The Gospel of Nobodies as we look at the women who visited and discovered the empty tomb. Join us for this celebration of the resurrection.
