Meet the Team

Pastor Jim has been called to shepherd the congregation of Christ Lutheran Church in East Northport for over 35 years. He was called on August 15th, 1985 from Luther Seminary in St. Paul Minnesota. Pastor Jim grew up in Wisconsin and graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, with majors in Math and Zoology. He also received a Masters of Science degree from the University of Delaware in Marine Sciences. After graduating from seminary he worked for a year for the Philadelphia Natural Academy of Sciences. Pastor Jim has been trained as a Healthy Congregation Bridgebuilder Consultant. He has served on various synod committees. He has a very loving and supportive family.

Pastoral Associate Sarah recently completed her internship and graduated from United Lutheran Seminary in Philadelphia. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Long Island University-C.W. Post. Prior to seminary, she worked for a literacy program as an Americorps member for two years in Providence, Rhode Island. She also worked with Brown University's Early Childhood Research Center as a research assistant, administering developmental assessment screenings for pediatric patients in low income areas. Pastoral Associate Sarah is very involved with the ELCA. She completed her hours to be a Level 1 Young Adult Coach, sits on the Young Adult Steering Committee as well as the Gender Justice Consulting Committee for the ELCA. Locally, she is part of the Ecumenical Lay Council which works with various denominations in our community and the Northport Food Pantry. She is a native of Northport and is excited to be back home serving the community she grew up in. She is married to her husband Ryan and they have two kids together, Gabriel (Gabe) and Aurora (Rory).
